Peugeot 206 1.9 Diesel Alternator Belt Installation Instructions

Installing the alternator belt on a Peugeot 206 1.9 liter diesel engine requires removing the old belt to make room for the new belt. The belt used is a Serpentine belt that covers all of the pulleys on the engine. As soon as the belt gets frayed or cracked, it would require alternative to stop engine malfunction. Alternative of the belt will only take a few minutes to replace. Guarantee to observe the belt routing diagram located by the radiator for correct routing.

Peugeot 206 1.9 Diesel Alternator Belt Installation Instructions

1. Open the hood for access to the engine compartment. Locate the Serpentine belt on the passenger aspect of the engine.
2. Locate the tensioner pulley to the left of the alternator. Insert the socket wrench on to the end of the tensioner and pull up to loosen the belt.
3. Pull the belt off the pulley and launch the tensioner slowly. Pull the belt off the remaining pulleys. Pull the belt out from the engine compartment.
4. Place the new belt across the pulleys. Follow the diagram to position the belt around the pulleys apart from the tensioner pulley.
5. Pull the tensioner pulley with a socket wrench. Place the belt around the pulley. Slowly release the tensioner to tighten the belt.
6. Start the automotive to observe the belt. The belt should transit smoothly across the pulleys.
